With the bulk of the album now behind us, we can get back into giving our audiences what they want: blasting them with walls of hip.

Up first for the spring? Harvelle's Downtown Long Beach. Next Friday, April 25th, 8pm.

The Urban Renewal Project | Eastside of Paradise at Los Globos

The Urban Renewal Project is back after it's winter hibernation. We've been busy putting together all kinds of new music, new venues, and new projects all for the new year! To kick it off, we're headlining a night of soul at an up and coming venue on the east-side called Los Globos. It's an all night event; the URP begins the night at 8, followed by a surreal cabaret performance by Toledo Diamond at 10 and DJs after midnight. This could be a weekly home for the URP so we need your help bringing the party!

This week we're going to be featuring the vocal talents of Dasha with freestyle poetry from Elmer Demond—plus the full band! We'll also be debuting some never-before-heard music from the pen of bandleader R.W. Enoch. Hope to see you there!

Tuesday, Feb 25. 8pm

21+. $10

Urban Renewal Project 3rd Anniversary at Typhoon

On a dark and stormy night in November 2010 at a dumpy bar in Canoga Park, 12 musicians embarked on a mission to make you want to dance to a big band rejuvenated by combined elements of jazz, soul and hip-hop. Three years, multiple recordings, two West coast tours, and 47 shows later, we're still kicking it, and we want to share it with you!

Come down to Typhoon at the Santa Monica Airport for soul music and sushi. We're playing two sets at 8 and 9:30 respectively. Vocalist & jazz trombonist Aubrey Logan will be joining us, as well as freestyle virtuoso Elmer Demond.

Typhoon has an amazing menu of Pan-Asian cuisine, but dinner is not required—just get drunk at the bar!

It's ALL AGES—so students are welcome—and it's only $10 at the door. If you play an instrument, bring your axe and sit in during the second set.
